Membership Terms & Conditions

Our membership terms and conditions

We promote exclusivity, so therefore only one person from a profession can join a Group. The Group Chair in consultation with the Management Team will have the final decision.

Members must represent their primary occupation, not a part-time business.

Bi weekly meetings last for two hours between 0645hrs and 0930hrs.  Members are expected at 0645hrs with 15 minutes for refreshments, some breakfast and general networking.  Unless there are extenuating circumstances, we would like members remain for the full meeting.

Training and Development sessions will run between 10am and 1pm or 2pm to 5pm. Refreshments will be available at the beginning, with a break at the trainer’s discretion. Members can be assured that the whole process will take only 3 hours and will be completely productive.

Individual members cannot be in another DD Group.  Corporate Members can send representatives to other Groups, as a guest of a Founder Member subject to the agreement of the Group Chair.

Your attendance is most important. If a member cannot attend you should make every effort to send a substitute (not a member of their own Group) .  If this is not possible they must inform the Management Team.  Failure to do so, will result in a ‘charity fine’ of £15.

Repeated absence is unwelcome and may compromise your membership of DD.

Members are encouraged to bring interested visitors to their Group with the intention of joining Deliberately Different.  Visitors can attend three meetings for a £15 fee, after which they must join as a Silver member.

It is the member's responsibility to file a concern with the Group Chair, if they believe a potential new member will conflict the Group’s exclusivity. This should be done before the the individual is approved for membership.

Members who wish to change their classification must submit a new membership application and obtain approval from the Managing Director for that classification change.

In case of problems with a member, Group Chair at their sole discretion, can put a member on probation relating to the member's Values,  business practices or commitment to the Group.

Memberships may be revoked for failure to comply with the Values and policies of Deliberately Different. Group Chairs may revoke memberships. Our Values are so important and fundamental to our Network that your behaviour and actions must reflect this principle at all times; if we believe that they are compromised, or bring DD into disrepute, your membership will be cancelled.

Group Chairs who fulfil all responsibilities throughout their term, and bring in new members will receive compensation. The will be subject to agreement with the Management Team.

Founder Members who bring in new members, will receive compensation in the form of discount for the next year’s subscriptions.

Deliberately Different Policies are subject to change. All proposed policy changes will be reviewed by the Management Committee. Our Values will not change!
